Clint Eastwood’s Gran Torino Trailer

Just as the Clint Eastwood’s latest movie Changeling is hitting theatres this weekend, the first trailer for his next one is already upon us. Apparently Warner Brothers is trying to squeeze two Eastwood movies in before the end of the year. At this point the man seems to be driven to direct as many movies as he possibly can before he gets too old, and you’ve gotta respect that. Gran Torino was originally rumoured to be a new Dirty Harry movie, and while we now know that is not the case, it could very well be the next best thing.
Eastwood plays Korean War vet Walt Kowalski, a tough old man who stands up to some gang bangers in his neighbourhood. It never fails, Eastwood always delivers so many good one-liners to the point where it becomes almost a little too comical. Still, there are only two words describe this trailer: BAD ASS. Gran Torino hits theatres on December 17th, and I’m definitely looking forward to it.

Posted by cronenfly on October 24th, 2008Looks AWESOME! It’s like he’s channeling an older Dirty Harry with some serious racial demons!
Posted by entertainmenttodayandbeyond on October 24th, 2008Yes! Count me in for this one. Clint looks more badass than ever, which is a shock considering some of his previous roles.
Posted by Rian on October 24th, 2008This looks really good. He sort of sounds like Batman in “The Dark Knight” though.
Anyhow– it looks like a cool movie– along the same lines as “Falling Down” thematically.
Posted by Jon Rocks on October 24th, 2008Great–Dirty Harry vs. The Math Club. Think I’ll just watch White Hunter, Black Heart and The Rookie again.
Posted by ProjectGenesis on October 25th, 2008And who says Eastwood is too old to do another Dirty Harry. That looked pretty damn great.
Posted by swarez on October 25th, 2008Boy he really doesn’t want to admit he’s old … but that’s cool. This is pretty much Callahan 6 or whatever. Looks like fun. If only Charlie Bronson was still with us then it could be a team up!
Posted by Ian on October 25th, 2008yeah, I don’t think this is going to be winning any Oscars. This looks more like the Clint eastwood who made Blood Work than the Clint Eastwood who made Mystic River.
Posted by TheMovieVampire on October 25th, 2008This is going to be awesome.
Posted by Joel on October 25th, 2008There just isn’t anyone that has done bad ass better than Eastwood. This looks like it will rival any Dirty Harry from his past.
Posted by Rusty on December 12th, 2008Ya better see it….
Clint Eastwood can do anything he wants. he is the ultimate bad ass stud. I don’t care how old he is…he is one bad mother……who makes a great movie.
Posted by DirtyAngie on January 10th, 2009Dirty Angie, why are you still commenting on the Gran Torino trailer? Go see the movie and come back with a comment on Sean’s Gran Torino review.
BTW, my dad will be 78 years old this year, and he could probably whup Clint Eastwood’s ass. Granted, Clint makes better movies than my dad.
Posted by Reed Farrington on January 10th, 2009I have watched every movie Clint Eastwood has ever made, but the movie, Gran Torino, is one of the best movies of all time. As the husband of an Asian wife and having an Asian daughter, a little older than “Sue”, I am deeply moved by Clint Eastwood’s portrayal of a man who understands and tries to make ommends for his Korean experiences. This is the first movie I always shed a tear watching at the end, when Clint sacrifices his life for the family he has grown to love. From the American husband of a Hmong family, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

WHY is the long rich and established ‘ever earnest’
Eastwood balking ANY mention of the gargantuan matter
of Hollywood’s decades long enmeshment with history’s
–MOST– awesomely genocidal regime –ACROSS the Pacific? ( 70 million exterminated in ‘peacetime’ decades AFTER WWII -unoutted, unanswered for, unmentioned in ANY Hollywood film -EVER! -FACT-)
NOT LOOKIN’ GOOD CLINT! -esp. as millions continue
to suffer and die on this, the once again ‘mysteriously overlooked’ -epically, urgently,
eerily relevant -STILL unfolding —KOREAN WAR…
-AMEN-
PS –and if you’re deleting this you too are censoring
