Vacancy 2: The First Cut Trailer

I still have yet to see the movie Vacancy starring Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale, but I have heard from a number of people that it is a surprisingly decent horror flick. Apparently it was also successful enough to spawn a sequel: Vacancy 2: The First Cut. Granted, the sequel is going direct to DVD, but it doesn’t look that far removed in terms of quality. The original film was about a motel where guests were videotaped in their rooms as they were being murdered. Part 2 is actually a prequel that focuses on the very first videotape that was found at the motel. Writer Mark L. Smith also penned the original (as well as Joe Dante’s upcoming 3D film The Hole), and Vacancy 2 is directed by Eric Bross (Traffic: The Mini-Series). Check out the trailer below, and look for it in stores on January 20th, 2009.

  1. I’m not really into horror flicks like this, but I’m even less inclined to watch a prequel where the outcome is decidedly determined.

  2. Good post! I loved VACANCY. It was a really good B-film with an A-list cast. Only problem with this one being a prequel is I think we know how it will end!
