I seriously think that this movie will be an abomination… I mean the best thing that could happen for this picture is it goes strait to video… Let’s face it that’s about the quality of the movie… Although the special effects look like they’d kick ass, they just can’t fix the whole movie… I believe it will be an : EPIC FAIL!!!!!

Wong had a promising start, with that TV work, X-Files, Millenium, Space and then a pretty decent horror film with Final Destination. Then it sort of fell apart and his stuff has been mediocre at best.

Yeah and I love how dragonball fans get so defensive over this movie. What are they protecting?

i would guess the reason for the reshoots is because fox has taken control of pic, will find the cheapest way to fill the holes, hack chop it together while Mr. Wong sits on the side lines crying in his soup, wishing he’d never had that brain fart that allowed his ego to think he could pull it off in the first place . . . next!!

It was made of official footage. All of which was what Swarez called a “fail bomb” and far more devastating that the classic “phail whale”. Whatever it was it barely looked like Dragonball.

Not true. Quite the opposite. Studios typically wont fund reshoots unless there is a big problem that can’t be fixed in editing. Reshoots are hard to organize and cost more money than shooting on the original schedule….thus they are usually done as last resort. “please do your research.”

Ah, I love these Dragonball posts.

I’ve said many times before and I’ll say it again. This film is a massive fail bomb waiting to blow up in somebody’s face.
No amount of reshoots will save this turd.

First of all… please do your research. The trailer that was shown was NOT A TRAILER. It was EXPO footage. It was not meant for mass consumption which is why it was pulled.

The official trailer will premiere on December 12th.

As for reshoots, almost ALL movies do reshoots, that’s a god damn fact.

No hope. None. That trailer was an abomination. However, I do hope that even the 12-year-olds that make up it’s primary fan base don’t buy tickets so that Hollywood gets scared and stops trying to butcher anime for awhile.

On a side note, I think Hollywood anime adaptations suffer for the same reason video game movies do: They choose the wrong franchises to adapt; and more significantly they choose the wrong directors. You need a visionary to make something like Dragonball work on screen. Speed Racer is so cartoony no one should have even tried. The Wachowskis made a valiant attempt but they failed with the editing and script.
