Agreed. I remember seeing the first F13 way after I had seen some of the sequels, Pt 6 was the first Friday I ever saw. I was expecting this massive splatter film but got a very tame slasher instead. The same happened with Texas Chain Saw the first time I saw it but I later grew to love it and it’s now one of my favorite horror films.

“Whatever made Jason SCARY”, rather. There was a word missing there. Oh, and I take back the “nothing interesting” bit. There were some well made and original kill scenes and the movie did open a lot of doors for the horror genre. I suppose that was interesting for its day but it doesn’t quite stand the test of time, in my opinion.

I was thinking the exact same thing, John Rocks…did they even watch the first movie? Or maybe they should watch Scream to find out who the real killer is supposed to be. The movie does look very generic but I don’t feel offended about this “remake” (that is probably really a sequel) because I never liked the original Friday the 13th. There was truly nothing interesting about it and I’m surprised it’s so well regarded (guess I’m more of a Sleepaway Camp type of chick).

I think we’re at the point where Jason hacking people to death induces mild chuckling as opposed to genuine fright. And yes, that final shot in the trailer made me laugh. Maybe they should have gone the “Bride of Chucky” route because whatever made Jason would demand a serious creative effort to be recaptured.

I guess they are calling it a reboot instead of a remake, ditching the old lady for a very fit looking Jason.

I guess nobody is worried about the fact that Jason wasn’t the killer in the first film…

This trailer looks and sounds too “Rob Zombie” for me.

I’m sure I’ll see it, but it doesn’t look promising.

I had a pretty cool idea on how to continue with the F13 franchise but now it seems to late for that.

No Friday the 13th remake or sequel will be something I care about. This just looks like generic horror.

“Not one but two remakes of classic horror flicksÃ¢â‚¬Â¦ wow, that takes some major cojones.”

Also takes a major lack of creativity and integrity…and a person that thought Pathfinder had a good script.
