Anyways, he even brought it up today in an interview with Katie Couric. When asked if being called elitist was a fair criticism considering how well off he is today, he replied "I lived for five and a half years without a kitchen table or a chair in a small cell sometimes by myself." But he brings it up all the frigging time. It was 20 minutes or so of his convention speech, and his surrogates use it as an excuse whenever he's criticized for almost everything, ie when he was being made fun of for not knowing how many houses he has, they said "he only had one house for 5 years and it wasnt pleasant!" - etc. - anyways, the sad part for me is that he sold out his anti-torture stance while going for his party nomination, who generally think otherwise of the issue. surprised you didnt know about McCains POW story, its an incredible one.
