After a quick scan on the interwebs I wasn't able to find anything new. I'm pretty excited about a 3rd installment too. Weeks, although not as great as Days, I thoroughly enjoyed, especially the Cottage scene. Good God I still get goosebumps from the scene.

The 28 films are among my favorites! However, days were better than weeks. For me weeks failed a little when the dad became a zombie and survived all the explotions and such. The end was good for a follow-up tho. I can't imagine a new film where the plots still takes place in england. Now there is no water to contaminate the infection.. anything can happen! :D

Anyway, are there any recent news about the director or the movie? this post is pretty old i see..

i am looking forward to the third installment. there had to be large scale special effects because it was a large scale occupation. and they had to kill em all because its not like they can be reformed is it? and i think that boyle, if he doesnt direct himself will choose the best man for the job.

cant wait.

I loved 28 Days later... it's one of my favorite movies of all time. I really liked 28 Weeks Later too, but it had a few holes here and there (and I wasn't a fan of the ending, either). However, I'm very excited to see the sequel. I hope the new director doesn't take the series into a widely different direction.

Both 28 Days and 28 Weeks were awesome films.
the ending to 28 Days was a good one left it open for another, along came 28 Weeks, new story and a good one again the ending was brill and was left open for another in Paris. Well Europe.
If 28 Months is Decided. Danny boyle should direct it,
the storyline should be thought of carfully, not just throw anything in.

Cant wait if it is coming out though:)

I've enjoyed the first two-- but I agree that I really hope this doesn't join the trend of shit horror movie franchising. As stated in the first post-- I'll give it a fair shake, especially based on the strength of the first two.

I didn't think the ending to Weeks was bad, but it was just so incredibly soulcrushing. The things that I didn't like about Weeks were some of the large-scale special effects, that looked a little cheesy, and some of the plot developments like "total extermination" or whatever the final measure was called, which didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. It may have been written in there as some sort of commentary on American forces' occupation methods of other nations, but it just felt very unsettling.

If they have another scene in the third movie like the begining of the second where people are running from zombies with that amazing music in the background then I'd be up for another film.

The thing that nearly ruined 28 Weeks Later was the fact that there was one zombie who chased the family. Are we supposed to belive that he had memories of his life before turning? I think it was better when it was just random zombies turning up to chase the heroes.

The ending of the first wasn't the best either, and it didn't ruin it for me. Overall, I actually liked 28 Weeks Later best. I'd be down to see another one if it kept the same level of production values as the first two.

Agreed. It was still way better than I thought it would ever be, I just thought it faltered a bit.

The ending for 28 Weeks Later wasn't THAT bad, Sean.
It certainly didn't ruin the movie.
