It’s great! the film and the poster, keep it up!
Posted by ivan on October 2nd, 2008Wow, Kurt Halfyard liked it? I’m in!
Posted by Joel on October 2nd, 2008Lookin’ good. I really am baised toward the guy covered up alone in the snow image though so I may not be totally objective.
Posted by Ian on October 2nd, 2008I like the way the ‘T’ in “THE” and the ‘N’ in “MAN” blend in with the white border of the poster. (Jay’s gonna think I’m dissing him, but I’m not.)
Posted by Reed Farrington on October 3rd, 2008Kurt Halfyard has the attitude of an asshole. he’s the reason i stopped listening to the cinemacast (sorry andrew). but i digress…this is Jay’s film and i look forward to seeing it somehow.
Posted by El Gringo on October 3rd, 2008Great poster, great quote. And there are days I wish I had a nice warm hood like that one for the snow. Looking forward to seeing the film.
Posted by Phoebe on October 3rd, 2008Anyone know where I can torrent this?
Posted by Itchy-finger on October 3rd, 2008I don’t understand, it says on the poster that you are the director jay but on the website it says that howard byrack is, what is that about?
Posted by Drew on October 3rd, 2008Drew, I’m about to blow your mind… Jay Cheel IS Howard Byrack!
Posted by Sean on October 3rd, 2008awsome poster, how will we be able to view this in the future?
Posted by Bob The Slob on October 3rd, 2008@El Gringo.
Sorry I drove you away from Andrew’s Show; but I prefer the term bastard to asshole, it’s more endearing.
Posted by Kurt on October 3rd, 2008Also, for local Toronto folks (and surrounding area) The assembled Goblin Man of Norway is playing the Toronto After Dark festival (on the big screen) on Sunday Oct. 19th 3:45pm.
Posted by Kurt on October 3rd, 2008I have to say that Jay is one talented motherfucker. Great director, writes his own music, designs a kick ass poster and is funny as shit to boot. I usually hate people like that.
Posted by swarez on October 3rd, 2008That is a pretty kick ass poster!
Posted by cronenfly on October 3rd, 2008Thanks for the comments guys!
For anyone that’s curious how they can see The Goblin Man of Norway…it’s currently online for free!!
Just follow this link:

It’s broken into three parts on the site, but the actual film is one long cut.
Drew: Howard Byrackk was a name I used during the original release of the film because it was meant to be a viral video with a little mystery behind it. It’s actually a character from Prince of Darkness, with a slight change of spelling in ‘Byrackk’.
Posted by Jay C. on October 3rd, 2008I thought it was a fake name but then i thought i saw a picture of Howard Byrackk on the website so i wasn’t sure.
Posted by Drew on October 3rd, 2008@Kurt
Posted by El Gringo on October 3rd, 2008What reason do i have to call you a bastard? or a smurf for that matter. asshole was used cos it has a definition of its own. i mentioned your attitude. your snarky little snorts and telling people ‘heh no no you’re wrong heh’. annoying. but again sorry for using this site and in particular this post to vent. going to check out this film now. looking forward to seeing Jay’s sensibilities at work in this form.
Thoroughly enjoyed the film. Beautifully done.
Posted by Paul Andrews on October 3rd, 2008Errol Morris meets John Carpenter?
WTF???
What’s with all the Cameron Crowe shit in your room then?
Posted by Matt on October 3rd, 2008Your name is Sean LLEwellyn? Nice Thing ref Jay boy.
Posted by theman on October 3rd, 2008El Gringo. Really sir, I don’t understand the hate.
Posted by kurt on October 4th, 2008swarez, Jay also writes screenplays, produces, does cinematography, edits, casts, etc. I can’t think of anything that Jay can’t do. If Jay can’t do something, it’s only because he hasn’t tried, yet.
He can sing, too! His vocal range extends from Neil Diamond to Aaron Neville.
swarez, do you hate him now?
kurt, don’t lose any sleep over El Gringo. You can’t please everybody (unless, of course, your name is Jay Cheel).
Posted by Reed Farrington on October 4th, 2008Oh, Jay also does visual effects. He makes excellent star fields. (I had to say that because I lost a foosball bet.)
Posted by Reed Farrington on October 4th, 2008@Reed. Have no fears on the lack of sleep. Its always interesting to see how you are percevied in the wilds of the internet. Just a bit baffled at how having a strong opinion equates. But we’d all be better people if we could understand how other people perceived us. Not to be.
Posted by kurt on October 4th, 2008“Howard Byrackk was a name I used during the original release of the film because it was meant to be a viral video with a little mystery behind it.”
Incredible win. Great way to use the new medium of film promotion. I thought Silicon Knights talked you into it.
Posted by Ryan M. on October 4th, 2008What is the music used it the trailer? Could you by any chance send it to me?
Posted by Bendiko on January 28th, 2011What is the music used it the trailer? Could you by any chance send it to me? Only for private use of course.
Posted by Bendiko on January 28th, 2011Sorry, I meant the music for Part 1 – Extraction.
