Sam Mendes’ Revolutionary Road Trailer Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet

After cleaning up at the Oscars in 2000 with American Beauty, director Sam Mendes is returning to the subject of suburban life once again with Revolutionary Road, based on the novel by Richard Yates. The story takes place in Connecticut in the 1950s and stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as a couple who are unhappy with their life together.
A lot of people are playing up the fact that it reteams DiCaprio and Winslet for the first time since Titanic, and I think they’ve both grown a lot as actors since then. It certainly seems like this is going to be a bit darker, perhaps something along the lines of Little Children or The Ice Storm. The trailer doesn’t give us a ton to go on, but it has an ominous vibe that has me kind of intrigued. Check out the trailer below and see what you think. Revolutionary Road hits theatres on December 26th.

The trailer worked for me. Didn’t try to be something it wasn’t. Just an intense, emotional critique of the American Dream. And, it looks like both DiCaprio and Winslet come through with strong performances.

This looks lame.
