Free Advance Screenings for Chuck Palahniuk’s Choke

As I was scouring the web this week trying to find out the details of the upcoming theatrical release for Chuck Palahniuk’s Choke (which will be opening in 400+ theatres across North America this Friday), I stumbled across a list of some free advance screenings for the film. It seems that Fox Searchlight is doing the same sort of marketing that they did for Juno, trying to build buzz among the hardcore fans. What this means is that if you live near a number of major U.S. cities, you can catch the movie a few days early, absolutely free! All you have to do is visit the website below and RSVP to let them know that you are planning to attend a screening.
On a related note, there is a “Meet The Author” podcast that was recorded at the SoHo Apple Store in New York where Clark Gregg (director of Choke) interviewed Chuck Palahniuk for nearly an hour about the book and the movie. If you’re interested, you can grab it on iTunes by clicking right here.

Hey bro… I’ve been there. I mean shit we’ve all been… Shi- Brb cockmeat sandwich!
Posted by Scott on September 24th, 2008OMG! Did someone say cockmeat sandwich!? I LOVE those! Sadly I may need to suffer the same fate that poor Sean did here as I have no cock to make the meat.

Cockmeat sammich? Like a rooster sandwich? Right? Mmm mm that does sound tasty right now!
So I saw Choke last night thanks to Film Junk! It’s too bad it was such a humdrum flick—it felt like a made-for-cable movie in most aspects excepting the vulgarity and nudity. Looking forward to hearing your take on it.
