I’d actually agree that it is a modern classic.

I used to be scared of it too (my Dad laughs and mentions the stories of me running behind the couch whenever I heard the tv spots come on).

“Basically a serial killer is on the run from the cops, and he ducks into a toy store where he does some weird voodoo incantation to transfer his consciousness into a doll.”

Whats wrong with that? How the hell else is corporate merchandise going to turn into a killing machine and seem any less stupid?

I’d like them to recast Freddy Krueger but Charles Lee Ray/Chuckie better still be Brad Dourif or I may not be able to handle a remake.

This series never interested me. I always thought that having a kilelr doll an antagonist would be too hokey and cheesey. Although I have never seen any of the movies, to me it’s too similar to The Laprechaun (sp?) And I effin hated that movie.

“Proven classic” might be a bit of a stretch, but I’d be willing to revisit this one (especially with a proper DVD release).

I had no idea Brad Douriff did the voice of Chucky. Interest goes up.

Reed might take issue with you mentioning that Catherine Hicks is most remembered as the mom from 7th Heaven. I always remember her from Star Trek IV.

Spock: “These are not the hell your whales.”
Mom from 7th Heaven: “I suppose they told you that huh?”
Spock: “The hell they did.”
