New To Theatres This Weekend: Lakeview Terrace, Ghost Town, Igor

Kind of a bland week for major releases, with the Samuel L. Jackson thriller Lakeview Terrace, animated horror comedy Igor, Ricky Gervais rom-com Ghost Town and Dane Cook rom-com My Best Friend’s Girl all playing in the majority of theatres across North America. If you want to get to the good stuff you’ll have to make your way to one of a few major cities to catch something like the Ed Harris western Appaloosa, Stuart Townsend’s Battle in Seattle, or Tropa de Elite (Elite Squad) the gritty Brazilian drug enforcement flick. What are you planning to watch this weekend?

Posted by dirrrtyfrank on September 19th, 2008Hm. I was kind of interested in seeing lakeview terrace, mostly because of Patrick Wilson (Little Children was awesome!). So now Ebert’s recommendation makes me even more interested.
And I definitely want to see Elite Squad, but I don’t think it’s playing in Tucson. Damnz.

Lakeview Terrace certainly looks interesting and Ebert’s review makes it sound like one of the year’s top movies. Speaking of Lakeview Terrace, I was wondering what the director of The Wicker Man was going to do next. And now I have my answer. Is it just me or if Jackson playing the same character that he voiced in GTA: San Andreas?
Posted by Matt on September 19th, 2008I might try to catch a showing of Lakeview Terrace. The recent Top 10 Biggest Movie Douchebags list from Adam kinda came out at a good time to get me to see the film. Sam Jackson looks like a total douche in the movie. I hope he doesn’t disappoint.
