Film Junk Now Available as an Enhanced Podcast with Chapters

Hey guys, I just wanted to draw your attention to something new that we’re trying with the podcast starting this week. In addition to the regular MP3 version of the show, we have also made an M4A version available for download. This is an enhanced podcast that can be played in iTunes, Quicktime and on your iPod (among other places), and it contains embedded chapters to allow you to skip easily between the different sections of the show, along with some additional graphics to spice things up.
I figure we’ll try it out for a few weeks and let you guys decide if it’s something you find useful. If enough people like it, I will set up a separate feed for the enhanced version of the podcast on iTunes. So if you try it, and you like it, be sure to let us know either in the comments or by e-mailing. Thanks!

Posted by Andrew James on September 16th, 2008If you have a Mac, there’s a Podcast Chapter Tool out there already. Recently someone came up with a solution in Windows, which is what I used. Here’s the link:

I might post a better how-to guide in the near future if can get around to it.
Posted by Sean on September 16th, 2008This is a cool idea for longer shows like yours that have segments where you might not always get through it in one sitting you can just pick it back up latter.
Posted by Ian on September 16th, 2008I love it. I’ve been wanting this because your podcast comes out the same day as many others usually so sometimes I like to stop it at the review and pick it back up later and such. It’ll be nice to know how long I have until different segments so I can better plan what to listen to and when. Also if I want to skip a review of a movie I’m going to see soon then it’ll be soooo much easier then me just scanning through and guessing when to stop. Thanks for doing this, if you make it a seperate feed in itunes then I will definetly change my subscription to that one.
Posted by Alex R. Cronk-Young on September 17th, 2008I’m probably never going to use this but apparently some people will love it.
Posted by Ryan M. on September 18th, 2008Very nice implementation to the podcast. It works on my Zune just fine.
