Nominate Film Junk for the 2008 Podcast Awards!
Hey there Film Junk Junkies, gather round… we’ve got a little favour to ask of you. If you happen to listen to the Film Junk Podcast on a regular basis and think it’s kinda decent, here’s something you can do to help spread the word about our little show! The nominations for the 4th Annual Podcast Awards are now open, and we’re hoping some of you might be interested in putting us up the “Movies / Films” category.
The submission form also has a number of other categories that you can nominate other podcasts for, but you don’t have to fill them out if you don’t want to. The important thing is not to nominate us for more than one category, because that will void the entry. The winner of the Movies / Films category for the past two years has been a Firefly podcast, and as much as I like Firefly, I think it’s time to shake things up a bit… don’t you? Film Junk for change in 08!

Posted by Primal on September 15th, 2008What about Cantankerous?!?! Hmm… which category? Religion Inspiration? I see a Mature category, but no Immature category. Peoples Choice?!?! What the hell kind of category is that? You can only vote in one category, so why would you vote Peoples Choice as opposed to some other specific category?
I think awards and money are the only worthwhile things in life, so I hope Cantankerous wins Peoples Choice. (If Cantankerous doesn’t win something, I’m going to blame vote-splitting as the cause.)

Oh and Cantankerous should be under GLBT… obviously.

If everyone ignores that category, and the 8 listeners of Cantankerous vote for it in that category, then Cantankerous might win. But what the hell is that category? I don’t want Cantankerous to be associated with some effeminate category.

there are several big name movie podcasts that were constantly nominated for this list who have dropped off, but FJ has moved in there! hope it can get more readers and listeners by this exposure.

There’s many good podcasts on there, Filmspotting being probably the most well known, but I think FJ could actually pull this off…

Jay needs to have another illness that leads to a good story
Greg needs to continue his frustration with customers throughout many of St. Catharines weaker establishments, or unlock some until now untellable HMV stories
Sean just needs to keep his sharp podcast managerial skills top notch, and maybe dig out a couple old segments that will seem fresh from not being done in a while?
Reed needs to stay away
and readers need to submit their best questions and/or angriest letters for optimum discussion

Posted by Sean on October 19th, 2008another suggestion – if you want to capitalize off new readers coming in from this, talking about things most people know about as the main feature (even though you were just at After Dark too, dont avoid that) will probably drag in more new listeners during this important next weeks of exposure.
