Film Junk Weekend Wrap-Up: Sept. 14, 2008

It’s definitely been an exciting week here at Film Junk, with a lot of time spent checking out some great flicks at the Toronto Film Festival, but for those of you who were getting sick of hearing about it, you’ll be happy to know that this year’s fest has come to an end. You’ll be able to hear our final thoughts on this week’s podcast. In the meantime, some of the other stories making headlines this week included a bogus rumour about Will Smith playing Captain America, Dreamworks getting sued over Disturbia’s uncanny resemblance to Rear Window, and a confirmation of Sylvester Stallone is doing another Rambo movie. We also got our first look at Clint Eastwood’s new movie Changeling, and Borat was back in the news again after winning his lawsuits. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

  1. I wouldnt say I’m getting sick of it, I would say I’m pretty much permentantly uninterested in festival coverage.

I understand it’s exciting for the people covering it. But why would I listen to reviews to films I haven’t seen?

  2. Well, believe it or not, a lot of people listen to reviews before they see a movie in order to find out if it’s good or not. I can understand not wanting to listen if they are movies that aren’t even in theatres yet, but at least it can put interesting movies on your radar ahead of time.
