Crash: The Series Trailer
In case you haven’t heard, Starz is about to launch a TV series based on Paul Haggis’ polarizing Academy Award winning film Crash. And it stars… Dennis Hopper? Yep, a trailer for the series has just arrived and it looks hilariously bad. Seriously, you couldn’t come up with a better parody if you tried. I actually liked the movie, but I still thought this looked way too ridiculous. Just check out the tag line: “Paths will cross / Lives will collide / Tensions will ignite / You can’t look away”. Maybe not, but I can always change the channel. Crash premieres on Friday, October 17th at 10 pm EST.

I liked the movie too and when I had heard of this series I thought it was ridiculous (like probably everyone else did). Episode after episode about race is just going to get tired. I don’t understand what kind of logic made this film ripe for a series (answer: Hollywood Logic).
I’m checking out the Television Forecast here and it says failure with a strong chance of cancelation by the third episode.
Posted by Ryan M. on September 11th, 2008Maybe I’m too Hollywood, but I actually think this is ripe for good drama. If it’s written well and the stories are relevant to people east of Anaheim, it has to be better than most of the crap that’s on the tube.

Wow, this looks absolutely horrible. It’s so bad it even makes the original Crash look like an Oscar winner in comparison … oh wait …
Posted by Joel on September 11th, 2008Wow that was fast. You just twittered the trailer and it’s already gone!

Posted by Sean on September 11th, 2008OMG that looks terrible. It won’t last a month. It doesn’t surprise me at all that Haggis sold out.

And whoever put that poorly constructed trailer together needs to find a new job… then again, maybe I shouldn’t blame them considering the footage they had to work with.
