Charlie Kaufman Interview and Profile in Wired Magazine
Five part audio interview and lots of stuff to read. I found this quote particularly illuminating with regards to Synecdoche, New York:
“Adaptation or Eternal Sunshine ultimately have a safety valve — a clever conceit that you come to understand… There isn’t anything like that in this movie, which is more like life. Things flying off and becoming unhinged and being incomprehensible seem to be the process of existence. That’s what I set out to explore. I don’t know. Maybe it isn’t a good idea for a movie.”
