Painted Portraits of Famous Movie Families

Alright, check this out. Artist Kirk Demarais has taken iconic families from a bunch of classic movies, and painted a set of imagined family portraits. How cool is that? I just love seeing The Torrances from The Shining as one proud and happy unit. Follow the link below to see his take on The Freelings, The Lundegaards and The Griswolds as well. If you like what you see, you can even order a set of prints courtesy of the Crazy 4 Cult art show. This is the best thing I’ve seen since No One Wants To Play Sega With Harrison Ford.

  1. All those paintings are pretty fucking awesome. My favorites are Cherri Wood “Dorothy Who”, Kirk Demaris “The Torrances”, Chet Zar “Dawn”, and Colin Christian “All Galaxina’d Up”.

If I made a higher income, I’d buy these in a second. “Set as Desktop Background” is the next best thing.

  2. That Harrison Ford thing is awesome. Somehow I missed that. Thanks for the link.

  3. Ha these are pretty good. I remember some guy did even funnier paintings of celebrities and political figures, etc. in odd situations. I remember one with Chomsky walking to his kickass van.

  4. There is some unbelievably cool movie art in here. I like the Lebowski ones. The zombie pics are cool too. I really like the one simply titled, “Dawn.”
