Good Trailer Starring Viggo Mortensen

September is almost here, which means that we’re starting to see a lot of serious dramas rolling out. It also means that we’re starting to see a lot of both Viggo Mortensen and Nazi Germany on screen. Put both of them together, and you’ve got a surefire Oscar contender on your hands!

For Vicente Amorim’s first English language film, entitled simply Good, he has chosen to adapt C.P. Taylor’s Tony Award-winning play about a professor who writes a book advocating euthanasia, only to find himself recruited into the National Socialist Party. Although the theme of good people getting caught up in Hitler’s regime has been done quite frequently over the years, this looks like another great performance from Mortensen. He has a certain everyman quality that just makes him easy to relate to. Good premieres at the Toronto Film Festival this year; check out the trailer below and see what you think.

  1. Is it just me, or does anybody else get the feeling from these movies that based solely on the fact that they are in english, they look ridiculous? I got the same sense off of the Valkyrie trailer.

Seems like if you were interested in the story instead of selling tickets, you’d set it in the proper language. Mel Gibson should do a Nazi movie.

  2. Ha that’s a good one. I think they were also using the Batman Begins theme for the first part of the trailer.

  3. “We’re sorry, this video is no longer available.”….Dogdarnblastit!…loves me some Mortensen I do.
