i have just download the death race movie and i have problem with the voice. what can i do? the movie is playing but there is not sound

@Film Junk Guys: I think the main reason why Film Junk doesn’t have the following to get sponsors is really because, as Kevin Smith said in the first episode of Smodcast (one of the only other podcasts I subscribe to) you are a part of: “a detritus of a wasteland of podcasts”. While this is my favorite of that wasteland…I think there is a major thing you can do to draw attention to yourselves: MAKE MORE VIDEO PODCASTS! I’ve never seen a video podcast as entertaining as the ones on this site. Of course this would be a huge burden on Jay (and an understandably sucky one with all of life’s other obligations) but simply put if those podcasts are on youtube (although I know many already are) there is more chances the site will break in to the sponsored world through more listeners being exposed to its existence. I’ve searched for film podcasts before but I didn’t discover this one until someone posted it as a great podcast on a message board thread and by that time you guy’s were reviewing Speed Racer.

Of course the videos might not be enough but they certainly couldn’t hurt. Maybe a monthly one would be a start and I’m sure all your present junkies (and maybe yourselves) would be happier at the very least.

@Jay: Have you seen the Blade Runner Theatrical Cut? Worst. Voiceover. Ever. No kidding. I’ve seen student films with better voiceover! Sure, some of the slowness could have been counteracted by V/O but certainly not the way it was written then. Get the BD and find out why.

Yes. That is how good it is. I had the same experience Jay and Sean did the first time I watched it but to me it’s one of those movies that gets better (and more watchable) every time you see it. Blade Runner gets my win!

IÃ¢â‚¬â„¢m just annoyed that the legendary William Conrad played second fiddle to some shmuck, Joe Penny, the apparent audience surrogate. Conrad spent much of his career searching for leading-man roles especially after ‘Cannon’ and ended up in ‘Jake and the Fatman’. Dammit, why can’t they make a show where Jake IS the Fatman?

To be honest, money wasn’t even the point I was getting at. If I needed money, I’d just write a few jingles and sell the fuck out of them.

What I was gettig at was a hope that the popularity of the podcast could come to a point where do Film Junk full time, giving us more of an opportunity to write jingles and make funny vids for all of the wonderful Film Junkies.

If you guys are hard up for money why not have Jay voice a few poutine spots on the podcast? I can’t imagine the many and varied maker of such a popular film foodstuff would just dump buckets of cash at your proverbial feet.

And I’d say my two favorite soundtracks/scores are Conan the Barbarian and Ravenous.
