Film Junk Weekend Wrap-Up: Aug. 17, 2008
Lots of movie fans were pissed off this week when one of the biggest movies of the fall season, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, was pushed back to next summer purely for business reasons. However, in response, the teen vampire movie Twilight has now been moved up to November by Summit Entertainment… clever move, but still probably no consolation. A pretty interesting rumour has been going around about Billy Bob Thornton playing the new Freddy Krueger, while the first trailer for David Zucker’s spoof An American Carol seems to have divided viewers. Marty Scorsese may be returning to the organized crime genre for HBO, and there’s some good news for McLovin’s career too: he has signed up to play the villain in a comic book movie written by the same guy who did Wanted! Chicka chicka what?
