Paul Blart: Mall Cop Teaser Trailer Starring Kevin James
A teaser trailer of sorts has arrived online for the upcoming Kevin James comedy Mall Cop (which has been renamed to Paul Blart: Mall Cop since it was originally announced). The teaser is actually a viral video of a skateboarder (pro skater Mike Vallely, to be exact) vandalizing a mall before being confronted by a mall security cop (Kevin James!).
Although I thought this was a creative marketing idea, the video itself wasn’t all that funny. I suppose when Kevin James is your biggest star, that’s not a good sign to begin with. I did like his segway though… do mall cops actually ride those things? That’s pretty awesome. Either way, I’m guessing Seth Rogen’s mall cop movie, Observe and Report, will be a little better than this. Paul Blart: Mall Cop is directed by Steve Carr (Next Friday, Dr. Doolittle 2, Daddy Day Care) and hits theatres on January 16th, 2009.

That wasn’t funny at all. I felt bad for the mall cop.

[Carrie hands him a penny ]
[Doug looks at here in disgust]
Doug: What the hell is wrong with you?
You are such a girl.
Here. we’ll flip a quarter.
[Doug hold up quarter]
Doug: And for future reference, this is your smallest
flippable coin.
For what it’s worth, I like Kevin James’ comedy.
(And I’m tired of defending Rob Schneider. I wonder if the French think Rob Schneider is a genius.
)
I guess there’s an audience for everything.
Posted by Reed Farrington on August 11th, 2008I stumbled upon this on the tubes. At the point of Vallely tagging things I was disappointed by fakeness…now it makes sense.
