Do all of you know that he was missing a finger? He lost it as a soldier (pilot?) in a war. The interesting thing is that the makers of Star Trek tried to hide the fact that Scotty was missing a finger. ( Remember, the Original Series was done before CGI existed. :-) ) They did a good job, because I never knew when I was watching it back then. For the close-ups of Scotty's hands when he was operating the transporter controls, they used someone else's hands! I don't know if Ryan M was being sarcastic, but I would be surprised if Shia lost any jobs due to a missing finger (unless, of course, he had any hand modeling contracts).
