Film Junk Weekend Wrap-Up: Aug. 3rd, 2008

Plenty of wacky rumours came out of the woodwork this week, including some casting speculation for the next Batman movie and also a third Ghostbusters movie. Although they will probably not amount to much, they still sparked a lot of discussion here on Film Junk. Meanwhile, Marvel announced plans to move forward with a Venom movie, and a trailer for the next Harry Potter movie hit the web. Ridley Scott’s take on Robin Hood seems to have encountered some roadblocks, and Empire Magazine forced Watchmen’s Dr. Manhattan to cover up his superhuman package!

  1. James Franco as Allen Ginsberg??? I don’t know about that, but as a fan of the beat generation i will surely check it out

  2. SEAN
The podcasts are busted up. Please tell me this will be fixed by tomorrow!

  3. Does anyone else think the one guy on the right side of the Watchmen cover (I don’t know his name– never read the comic) looks like Harvey Birdman? Has this been discussed?

  4. Joel: What is busted up about the podcasts exactly? Are the feeds not working? Is the latest show not showing up in iTunes? I haven’t noticed any problems myself.

  5. Surely they could have positioned the magazine’s title to cover him up Austin Powers style!?

  6. They could have just shown them from the vaist up. But I guess they wanted to convey the magnitute of Dr. Manhattan’s enourmous package.
