I honestly can’t believe it. I started penning a very amateur script for this a few months back. I picked Rogen and crew to take up the roles and work with the original cast. Heaps of people thought I was crazy, but started to like the idea. I just can’t believe I wasn’t alone in thinking this. It would be awesome if done right.

Im just worried if that they will turn ghostbusters into another pot head comedy if the main actors are casted way to young.Has any herd any news on the game it looks like that its in limbo right now?

this could be interesting, but then again, why is hollywood trying to bring back all the classics and remaking them or pumping out a sequel 10 plus years later. are they running out of ideas or what.

I think Jay’s idea about making GB 3 a Wes Anderson movie would be perfect. That’s what I’d really like to see the old cast back (sure they could have some new ones and Rogen in an Anderson joint might work) with the zaniness and zazz of any WA flick.

There have been a lot of rumors this week but this is the dumbest by far. NO way would Apatow and his gang hijack someone elses property.I don’t understand why people run with these stories. Yes the cast would be a lot of fun but this will NEVER happen!

I think people are putting too much stock into how “amazing” the first two Ghostbusters movies are. The films are fun, imaginative comedies propelled by the chemistry of the cast. They are far from masterpieces of cinema whose hallowed graves we shouldn’t desecrate. I would definitely welcome seeing Seth Rogen and (some) of the Apatow cast join the original cast in a Ghostbusters sequel. It would be fun.

Horrible idea.

Look, a Ghostbusters sequel, if done correctly, could be amazing. But it would need to be a masterpiece to not piss people off. Like, a three hour epic piece of genius, laden with real emotion, dry and intelligent humour and genuine scares (and not a single marijuana or dick joke Mr Rogen). I get that these guys are fans, and they should be as Ghostbusters is f’ing amazing. But they are not up to pulling off this kind of material. If they really care about this franchise and its fans they’ll leave it alone, regardless of how much their egos tell them they should get involved just because the opportunity is there.

Give it to a real visionary filmmaker (like Chris Nolan with Batman – despite The Dark Knight’s script flaws) and you’ve got something special. Maybe the Cohen brothers or Wes Anderson. Give it to a comedy troupe who happen to be flavor of the month and I slit my wrists in protest. I couldn’t stand someone defacing Ghostbusters. It means too much.

As a RABID Ghostbusters fan, I welcome Seth & Co. to be handed the GB torch/particle thrower. I can’t think of anyone else better!

Um…how about, successfully reviving the franchise 25 years after it’s original release would be frickin’ AWESOME?! If there’s one IP that needs to cool it’s jets, it’s Star Wars. 30 continuous years of Star Wars is enough! Let some other nostalgic property have the lime light for a change, Mr. Lucas.
