Rian Johnson’s The Brothers Bloom Trailer Starring Adrien Brody and Mark Ruffalo
You may remember Rian Johnson as the talented director who brought us the wildly unique first time film Brick, and now his next movie The Brothers Bloom is almost upon us. It’s a caper flick of sorts, starring Adrien Brody and Mark Ruffalo as two brothers who hatch a scheme to rob a strange young heiress (Rachel Weisz). For people who were annoyed by the hard-boiled detective doubletalk in Brick, this time around the dialogue seems much simpler, although the movie does still have an interesting style to it. The trailer showcases some moments of quirky humour in the vein of Wes Anderson, and it looks like a lot of fun. The Brothers Bloom hits theatres on October 24th; watch the trailer right here and feel free to discuss in the comments below.

That was very Wes Anderson in humor and in visual style. I love that Rinko Kikuchi girl.
I hadn’t heard of Brick and the trailer for that looks way cooler (and thankfully less Wes-like).

Posted by Jon Rocks on July 25th, 2008I’d have seen this based solely on the fact that it’s from the director of Brick, but the trailer now has me interested in the story as well as the director. Can’t wait.
Posted by Rian on July 25th, 2008Brick was amazing. Of course I loved the dialogue in Brick. I hope he does more stuff like that, but this movie still looks great.
Posted by Mike on July 25th, 2008It seems totally Wes Anderson-like which I love, and what a cast. I must say, I am not familiar with the director or with “Brick”, but judging from the trailer it looks pretty good. I have to admit, I am a little biased though……I love Brody and Weisz.
