No, I didn't realize that. What's the purpose of a spam comment? Is it meant for me to click on the person's name and get sent to a spam site? Is Henrik a spam site as well? Are all the commenters on Film Junk spam?

Just a thought on the push-pull topic of fan obsession and the internal debate if it’s healthy, I recently refinanced a mortgage and had a lengthy meeting with a senior member of my bank. At the end of the meeting I turned to the door and saw a huge Darth Maul figure prominently displayed in the center of a credenza. My first reaction was to think this guy was unstable. I got over it but it made me think, more and more our fellow brethren are reaching positions of power and some, like the guy above, choose to openly display their affections in the office. I guess we are in an adjustment period as these icons of our collective childhoods take their place everywhere. Maybe a similar period happened as the pin-up entered places of business in the 50s or the baseball pennant before that. Just wondering.

Here's the Wikipedia definition:

- Sic is a Latin word meaning "thus", "so", "as such", or "just as that". In writing, it is placed within square brackets and usually italicized—[sic]—to indicate that an incorrect or unusual spelling, phrase, punctuation, and/or other preceding quoted material has been reproduced verbatim from the quoted original and is not a transcription error.

I'm not so sure the brackets have to be square. If so, then if you quote me, you'll have to write "earth ([sic]sic)[sic]." Haha.

And Sean is correct, I am anal.

And Jay, that's not stupidity, that's ingenious! You should reinvent derivations of acronyms.

BTW, I thought for sure I had read that the Earth's Moon actually has a name. You know how other planets' moons have names? Like Jupiter has Ganymede. Jay said our moon was called the Moon. I thought that was stupid. But I think Jay's right. I find it funny when people name their dog, "Dog." I'm going to name my first baby, "Baby."

Isn't it Spelling InCorrect (sic)? Is it stupid that I think that's what it is?

Earth has to be capitalized? And what is the significance of the letters s-i-c, is it an abbreviation? I like to think I'm pretty smart at figuring stuff like this out, but I think the seemingly arbitrary letters makes it pretty damn hard with this one.

It means that the text you're quoting has a typo or grammatical error in it, and you want to make it clear that it's their mistake, not yours. You know, like if someone forgot to capitalize the word "Earth", and you actually are so anal that you noticed that fact.

Does it affect your stomach everytime you see Star Trek merchandise and know that you don't own it? I would think a board game would be pretty easy to come by though.

What does the (sic) mean that people insert into sentences?

The likenesses are pretty good though, Andrew. I wonder who the artist was. Actually, this could be from one of the early adventures when Spock still showed emotion. :-)

I like the tagline: "An adventurous game that orbits the earth (sic) and the planets beyond!" I guess the game must be like a comet. (Hope I've got my astronomy correct. Too lazy to fact correct.)

And Henrik, I do not have this game.
