Yes Man Trailer Starring Jim Carrey and Zooey Deschanel

It’s been a few years since Jim Carrey put out a movie I was really interested in (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was 2004, and before that the last decent one was Man on the Moon, in my opinion). I really didn’t think that the upcoming comedy Yes Man was going to be anything new or different for Carrey, but after seeing the trailer… you know what? I actually think it has potential.

The concept is intriguing… what if you suddenly decided that you would never say no to anything? Would it make your life more exciting and fulfilling, or would it just get you into a lot of trouble? The movie is based on a memoir by British comedian Danny Wallace, who apparently did try this idea out for six months of his life. Yeah, in some ways it seems like it could be a sappy life lesson flick like The Bucket List, but it’s directed by Peyton Reed, who did The Break-Up (which I thought was surprisingly good) and also Down With Love. Plus it doesn’t hurt that Zooey Deschanel is co-starring (is it just me or is she really breaking into the mainstream lately?). Yes Man hits theatres on December 19th. Check out the trailer below and judge for yourself.

  1. I don’t know how most people still feel about Jim Carrey, but I really like him a lot. I hope this does well, because I’d like to see him in more movies. Seems like he dropped off a bit after “Fun with Dick and Jane.” Though, admittedly, that wasn’t a great film. But “Liar, Liar” and “Dumb & Dumber” are some of my favorite Carrey performances. That’s what I want to see him doing more of.

  2. Meeeeeeeh. I don’t think it’s going to be good. It seems like it’s going to be Liar Liar, except he always says yes instead of never telling lies, and oh the crazy situations he’ll get into because of it. It does help having Zooey Deschanel in it though. I’m in love with that woman.

  3. I’ve always enjoyed Jim Carrey, and these are the roles he does well in. I’ll go see it.

  4. Jim Carrey is definately a good actor. Zooey is looking good as usual.

  5. I’m in. I miss Jim Carrey comedies.

Well said. Plus, red font against a white background? I want that to die.
