Halloween 30th Anniversary Commemorative DVD Set Announced

If you want to talk about movies that have been released on DVD way too many times to count, John Carpenter’s Halloween is right near the top of that list. Still, I suppose they wouldn’t keep re-releasing it if people didn’t keep buying it, and I’m guessing that there are plenty of people out there who will be excited to hear about the new Halloween 30th Anniversary Commemorative Set, coming this October from Anchor Bay. It looks to be a fairly impressive 6-disc package that includes the following:

  • Halloween: The Original 1978 Cut
  • Halloween: The Extended Edition
  • Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers
  • Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers
  • Halloween: 25 Years of Terror documentary
  • Halloween on Blu-ray
  • A replica of the Michael Myers mask

I’m sure the mask will be enough to put collector’s over the edge on this one. Retail price is $89.97… does that sound like a reasonable price to you? Look for this 30th Anniversary Commemorative Set in stores on October 7th.

  1. Even though I’ve never been a fan of the Halloween films I’d be willing to go for something like this, if not only for the collectabilty of it.
But the mask would have to be a full on mask, not some cheap shit.

  2. I don’t know– I have several copies of this one. Well– at least I’ll hold off on getting the blu-ray for now. See if the price of this one it more reasonable upon release.

  3. Weird…where is number two and three? I’d wait for the BD but I actually have no interest in owning the Halloween series anyway.

  4. They don’t have the rights to 2 and 3.
