We’re Back Online Again… Sort Of

Hey guys, it’s been a pretty crazy weekend here. As you may have noticed, Film Junk was down for most of yesterday and today. The reason is that Jay’s article about 10 Modern Action Scenes made it to the front page of Digg… which is awesome! But neither us nor our web host were prepared for the massive flood of traffic that followed.
We are currently in the process of moving to a new server that will hopefully handle the load a bit better. In the meantime, some things on the site may be temporarily disabled or broken. Our other sites such as The Documentary Blog and my personal blog are also likely to be off-line for a little bit longer.
My apologies for the down time, but we should be back to 100% operating levels soon. Special thanks go out to our friend Kevin at Krewdesign for helping us out in our time of need. Other than that, we just got back from seeing Hancock and will be recording a new episode of the Film Junk Podcast tonight as usual.
P.S. If this is your first time visiting Film Junk… welcome! Glad to have you with us. Why not bookmark the site or subscribe to our RSS feed if you like what you see? Here are a few other articles that you may also find interesting:

Way to go!
Posted by Rusty James on July 6th, 2008Congrats guys. You certainly deserve it.
Posted by Matt Gamble on July 6th, 2008That’s great. This is literally the one movie site I hit every day (usually several times.) Just don’t forget the hardcore film junkies now that you’re getting those internet stardom millions.
Posted by Jon Rocks on July 6th, 2008Haha, congratz! You’re definitely my favorite movie-related site… no joke.
Posted by Derek on July 7th, 2008I’m glad its back because I was withdrawing. As long as you guys never change too much I’ll be along for the ride.
Posted by Ryan M. on July 7th, 2008it seems that the documentary blog is also down
Posted by Drew on July 7th, 2008Yes, our other sites are still on the old server and our web host has not reactivated them yet. If they don’t reactivate them shortly I am switching everything else over tonight.
Posted by Sean on July 7th, 2008I also hope you guys don’t change too much if you reach a movie blog level of fame. You see, The Movie Blog is a Donut while Film Junk is a bunch of strawberries. There both delicious but the strawberries are healthier and more satisfying
Posted by Drew on July 7th, 2008Difference is that the movie blog isn’t run by a well-functioning married 29-year old, but rather a nutcase of a 35 year old manchild.
I wouldn’t worry too much Drew.
Posted by Henrik on July 7th, 2008John Campea may be a nutcase but the genius of Doug Nagy balances it out. But at least over here everyone is awesome.
Posted by Drew on July 7th, 2008Congratulations guys, that is awesome news!
Posted by Shannon the Movie Moxie on July 7th, 2008Don’t worry, we’re still a long way from being The Movie Blog’s level of popularity guys. But thanks for your concern. We’ll definitely never sell out… unless we get offered a lot of money. Actually, even just a little bit of money.
Posted by Sean on July 7th, 2008way to go Jay, hopefully your future holds many more site crashing articles.
Posted by Connor G on July 8th, 2008That was a really good list. Keep up the good work!
