Disney’s Bolt Trailer

As expected, we’ve got another new trailer today for an upcoming animated film, this one from the same folks who brought us Chicken Little. Bolt is a German Shepherd who stars in a TV series about a dog with superpowers. When he accidentally escapes from the studio, however, he sets off on an adventure and comes to realize that the real world is much different than the one portrayed on TV.
Miley Cyrus voices one of the main characters, which pretty much guarantees that the movie will be a smash hit. On the other hand, John Travolta also voices a character, so maybe that cancels out Miley’s popularity. Malcolm McDowell, Susie Essman and Nick Swardson also contribute voices, in addition to Randy Savage (yes, the Macho Man himself). The weird thing is, I actually thought the first part of the trailer looked pretty cool, only to find out it was just showing the fake TV show within the movie. The actual movie itself seems like a pretty typical, run of the mill CG flick for kids. Meh. Bolt hits theatres on November 26th.

Posted by Baychuk on June 29th, 2008I agree with those who wish to see 2D animation return. I understand it will never beat out CGI, but c’mon– give me something to work with. The novelty of CG is gone.
Posted by Jon Rocks on June 29th, 2008Meh, indeed. Standard fare. Cute characters. Bland Story. Inoffensive dialogue. Seen it all before and we’ll see plenty of it again.
