I Love, Love, Love this movie.

Posted by Henrik on June 23rd, 2008Kurt, tell us why you triple love this movie. And, Henrik, assuming you were sarcastic, why do you think Kurt loved this movie?
Most film critics lambasted this movie. I must admit that if I had not known this was a Wong Kar Wai film, I would have been less inclined to like this movie.
I think 2046 is a masterpiece.
I wish I didn’t know Sean so I would be eligible to enter this contest.
Actually, does anyone know any other site with a contest for this DVD? Or is FilmJunk the single coolest site around?
Posted by Reed Farrington on June 24th, 2008Reed, you can totally enter the contest… If you win, I’ll just give you back your bootleg copy of My Blueberry Nights that I’ve had for the past few months and still haven’t watched.

It was made outside of North America.
Posted by Henrik on June 24th, 2008Elaboration on MBN is coming (as I’m screening the film at my regular screening series this Thursday), but suffice it to say that all the actors are a joy to watch, the film is in no hurry to get anywhere, and lets you breathe in the sights of three iconic parts of the United States through the eyes of of a romantic without a hint of irony or cynicism.
The film also has a great soundtrack, and the scenes in the Casino simply hum with cinematic energy.
In a fairly dreary year for cinema, I walked out of the theatre humming.

Are you kidding? I loved Atanarjuat, Y Tu Mama Tambian and Chronos. All made in North America. They make good films on that fairly obscure little continent there…
Posted by Kurt on June 24th, 2008I am kidding Kurt. You don’t have to get all defensive, I was trying to be funny.
Posted by Henrik on June 24th, 2008Heh! So was I. That was some funny shit!
