Monday Morning Box Office Report – June 16, 2008

No big surprises at the box office this past weekend, as the Incredible Hulk bit off a pretty massive chunk of change followed by Kung Fu Panda and The Happening. The Incredible Hulk earned only about half of what Iron Man made in its opening weekend, and also made a bit less than Ang Lee’s Hulk, but overall I don’t think Marvel can be unhappy with the result. M. Night Shyamalan’s The Happening still had a decent showing despite negative buzz and poor reviews, making less than Signs and The Village, but about the same as Unbreakable. You Don’t Mess with the Zohan and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull rounded out the top 5.

1. The Incredible Hulk — $54.5M
2. Kung Fu Panda — $34.3M
3. The Happening — $30.5M
4. You Don’t Mess with the Zohan — $16.4M
5. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull — $13.5M
6. Sex and the City — $10.2M
7. Iron Man — $5.13M
8. The Strangers — $4.1M
9. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian — $3M
10. What Happens in Vegas… — $1.7M
