Punisher: War Zone Trailer Starring Ray Stevenson

This week we’ve finally got our first look at Marvel’s next rebooted franchise in Punisher: War Zone. Ray Stevenson will be the third person to play Frank Castle (aka The Punisher) on the big screen… and to think, I actually kind of liked Dolph Lundgren in the role!

The teaser trailer doesn’t show a heck of a lot other than Stevenson shooting guns, and I suppose he does an adequate job there. It kind of reminded me of the Hitman trailer actually. What’s with all the gaudy coloured lighting in every scene though? Punisher: War Zone is directed by Lexi Alexander (Green Street Hooligans) and co-stars Dominic West as The Punisher’s arch enemy Jigsaw. I thought Stevenson did a great job on HBO’s Rome, but I’m not seeing much to get me excited about this so far. I didn’t see the last Punisher movie starring Thomas Jane either. Check out the trailer below and see what you think. Punisher: War Zone hits theatres on December 5th.

  1. Hmm, never really liked any of the Punisher material. It always felt like a second, or third rate Batman, except without as much theatricality and with a lot more guns and violence. This movie doesn’t look promissing at all. It’s all very cliche, except for that one line “Sometimes I’d like to get my hands on god.” That was pretty bad-ass.

  2. Have you read the Garth Ennis run on Punisher? Thats some good material. “Third rate Batman”!? Hell no dude; Frank Castle fucking kills people.

I’m glad they are rebooting rather than sequeling this. I prefer the Dolph Lundgren version as well because frankly I like the taste of cheese better than shit.

  3. I think I’m the only person who liked the last Punisher movie… a lot. Sigh, it sucks to be alone in the world.

And if you say you liked the Dolph Lundgren version you’re lying. Nobody ever liked it. That’s like saying the Captain America movie was a great film. Give me a break.

  4. I quite liked the last Punisher movie, but I also have a special place in heart for the Lundgren version. This trailer however, does not look great…
