This Week on DVD – June 10, 2008

Wanna know what shiny new discs are in stores this week? Well, you came to the right place. The two major releases are Doug Liman’s Jumper and Rob Reiner’s The Bucket List, but there are also a handful of smaller releases that you may want to check out including Zak Penn’s poker mockumentary The Grand (listen to our review here), indie horror film The Signal, period drama The Other Boleyn Girl, and Michael Haneke’s North American remake of his own film Funny Games. Also out this week is HBO’s John Adams mini-series starring Paul Giamatti, the documentary Heavy Metal in Baghdad, and Natural Born Killers on Blu-ray. (By the way, I’m not really endorsing Wieners… I just thought the cover was funny.)

Damn– I thought that last Blu-ray was “The Professional” as in “Leon.”
Hope that comes out soon.

Posted by Matt on June 10th, 2008“Wieners” seems to be the second installment of Thompson’s ongoing “food movies” project. The first being “Good Burger,” of course.
Up next: “Sour Krauts,” a period-piece about curmudgeonly German schnitzel vendors.
