Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead Trailer

Just when you thought the vampire movie had been subjected to just about every twist imaginable, along comes first-time director Jordan Galland and his Shakespearean mash-up Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead. The concept behind this unique horror/comedy hybrid is that an unemployed actor lands a gig directing a strange adaptation of Hamlet, only to find out that the play was actually written by a vampire… and he is an unwitting pawn in their two thousand year quest to obtain the Holy Grail! Hey, you’ve gotta give him points for originality, right?

The movie has an intriguing cast that includes Jake Hoffman (son of Dustin Hoffman), John Ventimiglia (The Sopranos), Devon Aoki (Sin City, DOA: Dead or Alive), Jeremy Sisto (Six Feet Under), and yes, Ralph Macchio (The Karate Kid), who plays a vampire slayer/mob boss. Did I mention that Sean Lennon is doing the score? I don’t know too much else about it, but the new trailer has me convinced that it’s so weird that it just might work. 1. I like the title. Clever.

  2. It looks to me like the best thing about this movie will in fact be the title, which is at least worth a momentary chuckle. As for the rest? Meh.
