I think it will be really great. The original is probably the most entertaining movie I've ever seen. It had a lot of potential, and I think this movie will bring out it's true potential. Also, Plan 9 is so obscure that most people won't know that it's a remake of another movie and go see it. So basically I think it will be very successful.

Thought that there was a 'serious minded' version
of Plan 9 already made 24 years ago in '85- LIFEFORCE.

It has the voluptuous horror of the Vampire/Space Girl-
albeit nekkid -and the other 2 male Space Vampires, except they're not a BIG fat bald Swedish guy Tor and feeble past his prime elderly Hungarian thesp Lugosi,
but instead 2 young Brit dudes, one of 'em Chris Jagger brother of Mick.

The plot is about the zombified dead marching on one of the major cities of the world- London -being manipulated by the Outer Space Aliens.

There's even a 'Major Carson' (as referenced in Wood's film) played by Steve Railsback.

Well if that ain't in a nutshell Plan 9, then what is...?

I love cheesey black and white movies that have no point to them. i don't like the idea f them makign a reamke. The originals are always better than the remakes, that's my opinion on the matter.

You have to love cheesey black and white movies, there's no way you can't.

“a serious-minded retelling of the original story, paying homage to the spirit of Wood’s film without resorting to camp or parody”.

Huh!? Why not just make an original invasion film? If you wanna do it with quality you have to rewrite from the ground up anyway. If someone said they were going to do this in the intentionally cheesy spirit of Planet Terror that would make a lot more sense.

The original had a horendous plot, how can you make a serious version when you only have that to work with?

This is something I always wanted to try. To make the version Wood envisioned, tons of space ship, an actual army of the undead and stuff like that. I'm all for it.

I've certainly seen some older films before that I thought could benefit from being remade, but with something so horribly horrible as Plan 9, what's the point? After all, the only reason that anyone likes this movie is that it's so bad. Even if a better quality version is made, it would be losing everything that made the original worth watching. I just don't know why someone would want to do this.
