These games however are fucking pain to get through. Not because they are hard but because of the fuck awful writing and over the top acting. Solid Snake sounds like he’s taking a shit all the time while he ponders the meaning of life. Fortune cooky philosophy bullshit that people for some reason mistake for good writing.

Yeah I have to admit I’ve only played part of MGS2 and I haven’t even touched MGS3… but I definitely know part 1 quite well.

According to the quote on Kotaku the guy from Konami specifically said “Paul Thomas Anderson”, not just “Paul Anderson”. But really, who knows.

I’m somewhat familiar since I worked on Gamecube port of the first game. I do think that MGS has a shot at making a good movie since most of the game is just one long cinematic anyway. However, can you actually see P.T. Anderson directing a movie with nuclear weapons and ninjas and sword fights in it? I’d love to see him try his hand at something like this, but I just don’t see it happening.
