Finally They get a real filmmaker to make one of these things. Thats what it took for comic movies to get good. The problem with videogames movies are two fold.

1) The source material is paper thin in most cases.

2) The same two assholes make every movie.

But That being said Bioshock the movie kind of avoids both these pit falls.

Bioshock is best left as a game.

Silent Hill is probably the "best" video game movie so far. Even then it couldn't capture that atmosphere and creepiness.

I hear that Max Payne is coming out too! That at least has a solid story to it and hopefully that will be the focus, along with some over the top action like from "Shoot Em Up".

I recently watched the important parts of Mortal Kombat (intro of Sub-Zero & Scorpion, the fights that they are in) and it was pretty good. I definitely think it's better than Resident Evil which is embarrasing. Who cares though? The second people stop pledging allegiance to brand names, is the the second horrible adaptations stop making money, no?

I can't be excited for a video game movie until one comes out that is actually good. Has there been a good quality video game movie yet? I've thought long and hard about it and can't come up with one (and Resident Evil is not an acceptable answer).

Art Deco Sci Fi is the bomb. The story line in the game is fairly simple but it's the atmosphere and the look that makes the game a winner.

If they get Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio, the screen writers of POTC I'm sure they could cook up something good.
