New G.I. Joe Pics Hit The Web: Storm Shadow Has a Mask, Destro’s Head Isn’t Made of Metal
It seems that Paramount has finally decided to give the world a look at several more characters in Stephen Sommers’ upcoming G.I. Joe movie, but they’ve broken up the various images and spread them across the internet like pieces of the Weather Dominator. Fortunately, Cinematical have done most of the leg work for us, by collecting all of the new pics in one place.
I will say that Storm Shadow does finally look a little bit more like Storm Shadow, mainly because he’s actually wearing a mask this time (although that white leather trench coat still bugs me). Sienna Miller also looks a great deal more like The Baroness we know from the cartoon and comics, however, the new Destro (played by Christopher Eccleston) resembles a Russian gangster straight out of Eastern Promises. I actually think the metal mask thing would look pretty terrible in a live action film, so it’s understandable to take liberties with that particular aspect of his character. Then again, maybe he gets his chrome dome partway through the film. What do you think, do these new photos improve on the leaked images we saw a few weeks ago? I’m still not a fan of Storm Shadow’s look. Also, I couldn’t have been more disappointed when I saw that pic of Destro. Presumably he’ll get the metal face at some point, hopefully. Heavy Duty looks pretty good, but I’d prefer if Adewale were still on LOST instead of in this movie. The rest look alright, I guess. I just don’t know what to make of this movie yet.
