Film Junk Weekend Wrap-Up: Apr. 20, 2008

Yet another internet leak was temporarily plugged by studio strong arm tactics this week as a whole slew of G.I. Joe photos surfaced online, only to disappear hours later. There was, however, one “official” photo released, which is an image of Scarlett wearing the same black rubber armour that the rest of the team is now known to be outfitted in. Our weekly remake review finds a couple more classics slated for modernization including The Incredible Shrinking Man and Seven Samurai, and Dreamworks announced plans for a 3-D re-imagining of the landmark anime film Ghost in the Shell. Also, it appears that there will be life after Battlestar Galactica for Ronald D. Moore, who has signed on to direct an unknown sci-fi trilogy for Tom Cruise’s United Artists. Well, I guess they needed some good news to counter the delay of Cruise’s upcoming nazi flick Valkyrie.
