Harrison Ford Says He’s Up For a Fifth Indiana Jones Flick

There’s an interesting piece on Harrison Ford in USA Today where he talks about his career and the paths he has taken. Of course, it’s not too surprising that the one thing everyone is taking from the article is that it mentions in passing that he “might consider a fifth installment of Indiana Jones, though he hopes it wouldn’t take 20 years to pull together”.
The guy appears to be in great shape, and if Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is as big a hit as everyone’s expecting it to be, I think a new generation of fans will definitely demand more. On the other hand, it’s pretty clear that Shia LaBeouf is expected to be the future of the franchise if it does continue on. It might make sense for Harrison Ford to do one more film for him to pass the torch properly though. Do you think this should this be the last Indiana Jones movie? I think it depends a lot on the story in part 4, but personally I’d rather not even think about a fifth installment right now. Let’s just focus on the upcoming movie that hasn’t even come out yet!

I enjoy a good adventure picture so I’d be game for more adventure movies. If the kid takes over that’s fine so long as it’s not some kind of Indiana Jones Beyond thing or whatever.
Posted by Ian on April 17th, 2008As long as it doesn’t interfere with the sequel to “6 days 7 nights” and “firewall”…
uuum…
Air Force One – Two?
Posted by Phil on April 17th, 2008Nice… Air Force One 2. If they can get Samuel L. Jackson to star in that one, I’m there.
Posted by Sean on April 17th, 2008If they do a fifth, they may as well do a 6th and give us an old Indy trilogy.
I am very much looking forward to Indy 4 and I am hoping it turns out well. Lets definitely wait and see. The Indy films are nothing but pure quality and I am hoping the Crystal Skulls follows suit.
Posted by Captain N on April 17th, 2008Rather Ford would do a fifth or not isnt hte question. Would Spielberg and Lucas do it?
At this point I’m saying the same thing about a fifth Indiana Movie that I said about the fourth one before it was confirmed: “Hell, why not?”
Posted by Rian on April 17th, 2008Too earlier yet to start thinking about Indy V but I’d give my left nut to see Air Force One 2.
Posted by Stephen on April 17th, 2008Man Ford will be in his nineties if they keep going!!!LOL Bring on the wheelchair!!!
I hope Shia is not the future of this series…I just can’t see him as a guy who could play this rogue adventurer!
I say bring on Nathan Fillion of Firefly and let him take over the role! I think he would be perfect!!!

Posted by mike on April 17th, 20081138…i completely agree about shia, but COMPLETELY DISAGREE ABOUT FILLION…not because i dont like him but because…with the exception of the younger versions…ONLY HARRISON FORD IS INDIANA JONES…ONLY…NO ONE ELSE…NO ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
create a new character for other people, Indy is, was, and ALWAYS will be ford.
