The first one was fine the way it was. Although, if there is an interesting spin that adds to the mystery of Crystal Lake, then all can be saved.

Strangely enough, as lame as it may seem, Jason X (the space one) was one of my favourite ones from the series.

I hope they set the film in the late 70’s early 80’s because no one goes to regular camp anymore do they? I went to NASCAR driving camp a few years ago, now that would be a sweet setting. Voorhees versus the number 88 car!

1. Sleepaway Camp (The original Crying Game!)

2. Friday the 13th (The first 3 especially)

3. Wet Hot American Summer

4. Meatballs

5. Space Camp

A rating has nothing to do with the actual quality of the film. It just means that they can show some more blood.
I just hope they make the film entertaining and somewhat scary. Platinum Dune’s remake of Texas Chainsaw was successful in that sense. It didn’t come near the pure raw intensity of the original but it was a fun, gory ride.

But I wonder if the filmmakers will completely ignore the mother as the main villain and go directly to hockey masked Jason slicing shit up.

Wow. An R rating– maybe there’s hope for this one after all. Then again, if it’s supposed to be a remake, there is no Jason Voorhees, so it’s technically more of a “reimagining.”

I hate that word.
