Monday Morning Box Office Report – Apr. 7, 2008

Well either people are really into the movie 21, or they just weren’t interested in any of last weekend’s new releases, as the casino knockoff flick took #1 at the box office again for the second week in a row. George Clooney’s Leatherheads and Nim’s Island weren’t too far behind however, both earning just over $13 million apiece. Horton Hears a Who! had another solid showing in its fourth week to take the #4 spot, and The Ruins opened at #5 with pretty weak numbers, banking just $7 million. No doubt this will have some people predicting the death of R-rated horror movies yet again, but I somehow doubt that has anything to do with it.
1. 21 — $15.1M
2. Leatherheads — $13.5M
3. Nim’s Island — $13.3M
4. Horton Hears a Who! — $9.1M
5. The Ruins — $7.84M
6. Superhero Movie — $5.41M
7. Meet the Browns — $3.51M
8. Drillbit Taylor — $3.5M
9. Shutter — $2.88M
10. 10,000 B.C. — $2.77M

Man, 21 sucked. One of the worst scripts ever.
