New To Theatres This Weekend – March 28, 2008

It should be an interesting weekend at the box office… not necessarily for moviegoers (who cares about them!), but at least for analysts trying to predict the outcome. Will Superhero Movie continue the trend of easy money for low brow spoofs, or will the “Fanboy-cott” actually cut into the Weinsteins’ profits? Can Stop-Loss overcome the stigma attached to Iraq War movies and attract the teen audience they’re aiming for? Can Simon Pegg be successful stateside without the help of his buddy Edgar Wright? Does anyone actually care about Kevin Spacey anymore? These are all questions I don’t have an answer to. In limited release this weekend, we also have the indie mockumentary American Zombie, the Demi Moore/Michael Caine thriller Flawless, and Audrey Tautou in the comedy Priceless. Are you planning on catching a movie this weekend?
