Monday Morning Box Office Report – March 24th, 2008

Well that makes two weeks in a row at the top of the box office for the Dr. Seuss adaptation Horton Hears a Who, and I guess it kind of makes sense considering what it was going up against. I’m still a bit surprised that Tyler Perry’s latest film Meet the Browns only managed $20 million, but I’m not surprised that both Shutter and Drillbit Taylor were hovering around the $10 million mark. Roland Emmerich’s 10,000 B.C. rounded out the top 5, meanwhile down at #10 was a movie I had never heard of before: Spanish film Under The Same Moon managed to grab the #10 spot despite playing in only 266 theatres. In case you hadn’t noticed, it also squeezed Neil Marshall’s Doomsday out of the top 10 in only its second weekend. Ouch.
