I wasn’t even aware that they were planning a Biggie movie. I’m kind of intrigued about it. First off, the screenplay had me somewhat guessing. But I guess seeing Tupac as a character in the movie will draw from Biggie’s feud with him. I’ve made my research on Cheo Hodari Coker has somewhat of a background in the hip-hop industry as he appeared in a few documentaries, namely one about Biggie.
As for the casting, Woolards is unknown which is key for me. I would have felt uncomfortable seeing an established actor/rapper fill up the shoes of the Notorious B.I.G. Now Woolard has been said as similar sounding to Biggie, will he actually rap in the movie!?
Derek Luke as P Diddy works for me as he is already less annoying the Diddy.
Also, having P Diddy as executive producer tends to secure me a bit as he won’t allow Biggie’s memory to be misrepresented on the screen.
I certainly have more interest in seeing this than a 50 Cent-like movie.
