Major new titles in stores this week include the Director’s Cut of Robert Zemeckis’ motion capture epic Beowulf, graphic novel adaptation 30 Days of Night, and Wes Anderson’s The Darjeeling Limited. Also worth checking out are the live action role-playing documentary Darkon, Milos Forman’s Goya’s Ghosts, and the animated direct to DVD feature Justice League: The New Frontier. Something probably not worth checking out, but I’ll mention it anyway: the fourth Highlander flick, Highlander: The Source, directed by Brett Leonard (Virtuosity, The Lawnmower Man, Man-Thing) and starring Adrian Paul. And finally, don’t forget to check out the first volume of everyone’s favourite cartoon The Smurfs, as they start building hype for the upcoming Smurfs CGI movie.

  1. I’ve been looking forward to Silk.

  2. im a huge highlander fan, but this latest movie is one of the worst films of all time…

  3. I was just gonna ask about the highlander movie how bad/good it was,was this a direct to dvd movie?
ah the smurfs I had no idea about a cgi movie might have to get vol 1 just for the heck of it.

  4. The new Highlander is apparently very, very bad but I’m still going to rent it.

And wow, Punky Brewster. I didn’t realize the first three seasons were already out on DVD!

  5. Looks like another new DVD-less week for me…

  6. Justice League New Frontier was fantastic. Definitely not for kids, but one hell of a ride for comic-compulsive adults like myself.
