Stabbing Incident During Screening of The Signal

There is an age old debate over which is more true: art imitating life or life imitating art. This news story takes the debate to a whole new level. During a screening of The Signal in Fullerton, California this past Sunday, pandemonium ensued after a random attacker (believed to have been under the influence of an illegal substance) stabbed two people while they watched the movie, then fled the scene. No arrests have been made, and both victims are expected to survive.

The truly strange thing here is that The Signal, as some may know, is a movie about a transmission sent through cell phones, radios and TVs, that can turn humans into bloodthirsty killers. What do you think… publicity stunt or weird coincidence? Of course I’m kidding… I’m sure it’s not an actual publicity stunt, but it does makes you stop and think. The movie resumed after the incident had been investigated, and they point out that the very next scene shown was a stabbing! Crazy. Thanks to Primal for the heads up on this story.

  2. In a related story, a man watching a showing of “There Will Be Blood” was reported to have actually gone out and drank someone else’s milkshake.

  3. This story smacks of publicity stunt, especially because there was no arrest made. Either way it’s a cool story and the movie looks interesting.

  4. I’m guessing this is pure coincidence. At least I hope that’s all it is.
