Vantage Point took the weekend box office crown with a solid $24 million, once again, despite all the primarily negative reviews (how many times have I written that statement lately?). Doug Liman’s Jumper continued to feed off of some decent word of mouth to stay at #2, while family-friendly fantasy The Spiderwick Chronicles was right behind at #3. Step Up 2 the Streets and Fool’s Gold rounded out the top 5. Michel Gondry’s Be Kind Rewind didn’t have a great opening weekend, but it wasn’t playing on nearly as many screens as it should have been (it did have the second highest per screen average). Meanwhile, Larry the Cable Guy’s new movie Witless Protection and Charlie Bartlett both did significantly worse, hovering around the $2 million range.

1. Vantage Point — $24M
2. Jumper — $12.7M
3. The Spiderwick Chronicles — $12.6M
4. Step Up 2 the Streets — $9.79M

6. Definitely, Maybe — $5.18M
7. Be Kind Rewind — $4.1M
8. Juno — $4.1M
9. Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins — $3.99M
10. There Will Be Blood — $2.56M
