Weird Web Wednesdays: Skateboarding Is A Crime

Those damn skateboarders… they’re all a bunch of delinquents who put themselves on the wrong side of the law. Except, in this case, the skateboarders that this Baltimore cop decides to manhandle look like the most harmless, good-natured kids in the world. Part of me has a hard time believing this video is real, because what police officer would be dumb enough to perform such a stunt in front of a camera? Either way, it’s pretty funny. Also check out some brilliant voice over work by the cast of Spongebob Squarepants, a baby that loves Rick Astley, and another amusing commercial from Michael Bay. If that’s not enough, even Martin Scorsese’s getting into the commercial game too! What a sell out.

Hahaha, the funny thing is I live in Baltimore, and I first heard about this video on my local news station (WJZ). It is 100 percent real, and last I heard the cop involved was suspended with pay. Craaaaazy.

Wow, police cars & uniforms have changed quite a bit.
Posted by Nemesis on February 20th, 2008I gotta get some of that Blow. I’ve never even heard of it.
I get the parental complaints about this stuff, but at the same time, last time I checked, this was a free country and a business can market whatever they want so long as it isn’t illegal.
Posted by Andrew James on February 20th, 2008The cop makes me sick to watch.
The RickRoll baby is adorable though, fantastic. And this new Michael Bay commercial is way better than the first one, it’s pretty awe-inspiring. Great.

-Skateboarding is not a crime and shouldn’t be treated as one. How do you figure of what you have said above. We do nothing wrong yet get bitched at and harassed so i don’t know what people are thinking. Skateboarding is a hobby just like basketball or baseball, but i don’t see people giving crap to them about what they do.
Posted by Drew on March 12th, 2008Don’t worry Drew, I was being sarcastic. Although I do think many skateboarders actually prefer to see themselves as anti-authoritarian rebels.
Posted by Sean on March 12th, 2008I’m going to play baseball in the city hall courtyard and see what happens. When the authorities ask me to leave, I’ll just tell them it’s my hobby.
Posted by Jay C. on March 12th, 2008I was planning on smashing baseballs towards the building…apparently skateboarders lack a sense of humor.
Posted by mike on March 12th, 2008ok so am i the only one who sees whats really going on. this world of ours is going to the gutter. people cant even have a out door activity with out getting arrest. me being a skater knows this very well
